MEET THE EXCELLECT TEAM

It is about time we introduce the whole team! In this blog, we will be sharing some interesting and fun facts about the team here at Excellect. We will be going in order of when they joined the team, so you can see the growth we have had in the last few years and get to know our team a bit better!

First up, we will start with our Founder and Managing Director, Simon Kelly, who started Excellect in December 2014. His role is to oversee everything in the business whilst ensuring the team are happy. His dream holiday is to go to the Grand Canyon in Arizona! Simon likes the TV series, Game of Thrones, and his favourite food is Pizza. A fun fact about Simon is that he is a keen musician, playing keyboard, guitar and writes his own music.

Ryan Tozer joined at the company formation in December 2014 and was the companies first employee. Affectionately known as the ‘Original Apprentice’, he has worked in most areas of that business and is currently our Senior Employee Benefits Advisor involved in both annual renewals, and new business cases whilst managing client relationships. His dream holiday would be Japan! Ryan’s favourite TV series is Better Call Saul, and he loves a Toblerone. A fun fact about Ryan is that he played the Saxophone for 6 years where he achieved his Grade 4!

Helen Wood joined in December 2016 and started the Client Services team. As Client Services Director, Helen manages the team to ensure that our clients are happy and well looked after, she also ensures our advice and record keeping is compliant. Her dream holiday is to go to Canada! Helen’s all-time favourite TV series would be Friends and she loves a Lamb Roast. A fun fact about Helen is that she has a Blue Peter badge!

Ann Barker joined the team in January 2019 and started the Sales team. Ann is a Diploma Qualified IFA and as Sales & Partnership Director, she oversees the Sales team and is responsible for looking after and developing our strategic partnerships. Her dream holiday would be to fly to the Maldives! Ann’s guilty pleasure is Married at First Slight Australia, and her favourite food is Rum & Raisin Ice Cream. A fun fact about Ann is that she has 5 cats!

Honey Mildon joined in September 2019 straight from school and was the company’s second apprentice. Honey has worked her way up to Employee Benefits Team Leader and manages our Key Accounts. Her dream holiday is to travel to Bali! Honey loves the TV series Gavin & Stacey, and her favourite food is Pasta. A fun fact about Honey is that she held hands with Idris Elba!

Lili Scott joined the team in July 2021 and has recently started an apprenticeship to gain her Cert CII qualification. Being an Employee Benefits Advisor means that she is involved in the renewals process and manages their accounts. Her dream holiday would be to go to the Amalfi Coast in Italy! Her favourite TV series is Afterlife, and her all-time favourite food is Pizza. A fun fact about Lili is that she did three different dance styles – ballet, tap, modern – for 10 years!

Laura Tozer joined us in November 2021 and has recently completed her business administration apprenticeship. Laura is our Client Delivery Specialist, and she manages key accounts and new business. Her dream holiday would be to go back to Mexico! A TV series Laura loves is Black Mirror, and her favourite food is Brownies. A fun fact about Laura is that Idris Elba held her hand!

Jess Sage joined the team in January 2022 and has recently completed her business administration apprenticeship. As Client Services Administrator, Jess is involved in the renewals process and deals with client queries. Her dream holiday would be to go to Thailand! Jess’s all-time favourite TV series is Bridgerton, and she loves Tomato and Basil Pasta. A fun fact about Jess is that she used to ride horses competitively!

Nynke Hunter joined Excellect in January 2022 and was the first employee in the Sales team. She is the Sales & Partnership Executive and looks after any new introductions to the business, she is also responsible for looking after all our existing referral partners and finding new ones to work with. Her dream holiday would be going anywhere by the sea! Nynke loves the TV series Car Share, and she loves to eat Pizza. A fun fact about Nynke is that she can speed skate!

Sally Osmond joined us in June 2022 and became part of the Sales team. Sally is a Diploma Qualified IFA and as our Employee Benefits Consultant, she runs all of our client delivery meetings to ensure our advice is consistently delivered and clients fully understand their products. Her dream holiday is to go to Lake Como in Italy! Her favourite TV series is Breaking Bad, and she loves a Jacket Potato topped with Coleslaw and Cheese. A fun fact about Sally is that she had lunch with Frank Bruno!

Lucy Meredith joined us in September 2022 and is coming to the end of her business administration apprenticeship. As Client Services Administrator, Lucy is involved in the renewals process and deals with client queries. Her dream holiday is going to New York! Her favourite TV series is all time classic, Gavin & Stacey and she loves Pasta. A fun fact about Lucy is that she was an extra in a TV series called Galavant!

George Pope joined the team in April 2023 and has just begun his business administration apprenticeship. He is an Employee Benefits Administrator and is involved in the group protection process. His dream holiday would be to go to the Maldives! He loves The Catherine Tate Show and is partial to Nando’s. A fun fact about George is that he can take lights down without standing on a ladder, you’ll have to ask him!

Beth Sellars is our new apprentice who has recently joined the team in July 2023. Joining the client services team as a Client Services Administrator, Beth is involved in the renewals process and deals with client queries. Her dream holiday would be to travel to the Maldives! Beth's favourite TV series is The Rookie and her favourite food is Chicken Nuggets. A fun fact about Beth is that she has a three-legged dog called Bella!

Lorenzo Ponsillo is our other new apprentice who has just joined Excellect in July 2023. Joining the client services team as a Client Services Administrator, Lorenzo is involved in the renewals process and deals with client queries. His dream holiday would be to go to LA! His favourite film series is Star Wars, and he loves Ravioli. A fun fact about Lorenzo is that he plays for two football teams!

Over the last 8 ½ years, Excellect has grown significantly and in our first 5 years outgrew our original office in South Bristol. We moved to a fantastic new office in December 2019, which is also very quickly being outgrown!
