When it comes to employee wellbeing there is a definite link between oral health, happiness, and self-esteem. The healthiness of the mouth, teeth, and gums affects everyone’s enjoyment of life.

We all only have one set of teeth so avoiding extraction if possible is important. But here is a very common story: A young male employee was suffering from persistent toothache and visited the dentist. The problem was identified, and the two options were an extraction of the tooth or saving it with root canal work. Unfortunately, the cost of the root canal work (which had to be carried out by a private dentist) was £800!! This, due to cost was not a viable option, and therefore the employee proceeded with the extraction option.
Had a Company Dental Plan been in place, meaning part of the cost could be claimed back, the decision would have been a different one.
